As competition intensified and the legacy HATS market matured, Brüel & Kjær faced a strategic growth challenge: shifting the category from established 8 kHz benchmarks to a new high-frequency standard aligned with emerging demand. To support that transition, they needed more than a product story – they needed specialist positioning that could translate technical innovation into commercial relevance, accelerate upgrades, and unlock new market opportunities in R&D audio testing.

We developed a positioning strategy focused on R&D test engineers as the key commercial influencers, reframing the product’s technical breakthrough as a new benchmark for audio measurement. The creative platform, The Perfect Listener, translated complex performance advantages into a compelling industry narrative that signalled category leadership. Delivered through a globally coordinated campaign toolkit, the programme enabled local teams to drive consistent market adoption across channels and regions.
